The "State Records Retrieval Board" operation has been the subject of extensive press coverage, much of it negative. In addition, many county records offices have spoken out about the activities of the operation. More information about these reports can be found using this link.

Since the website operated by "State Records Retrieval Board" has been copied from our TitleSearch.com pages, the possibility for visitors to presume some association is likely. We have documented visitors navigating to the State Records Retrieval Board website.

AFX LLC / TitleSearch.com is based in Dawsonville, GA and has been providing title services to the real estate industry and government agencies for over 15 years.

"State Records Retrieval Board" appears to be an operation based in California. The website was registered in April 2010. Although the website registration shows a name of Max Stockton, corporate records show Neil Camenker as the operator. There are common contact information between this business and other companies headed by Neil Camenker. There is a previous company called First Deposit Capital with similar ownership information. This company appears to be a mortgage lender which has lost their California business license. An order of revokation is linked here.

The State Records Retrieval Board website contains a few items to note. First, the website address is mis-spelled, missing an "R". There are multiple misspellings on the pages, such as the word "Guarantee" on the menu. In addition, when the website copied the logos from the TitleSearch.com site, they included references to membership in associations such as NALTEA (National Association of Land Title Examiners and Abstractors), and the BBB. No actual membership in either organization was found for State Records Retrieval Board. No record of a company with that name was located in the California Secretary of States office.

At AFX LLC, we have initiated actions to prevent State Records Retrieval Board from continuing to use the infringing logos on their website. In the meantime we are investigating their activities and business practices.
